The Butcher, The Faker, & The Disinformation Maker

Americans have always been center left, they just no longer believe they are. The cause of this is largely that language has been systemically sabotaged to manipulate and deceive. America has a particular version of liberalism that has always been divergent from the norm. It's always been a term that is a little puzzling. This is true of "conservatism" in America as well frankly.  The words have particular meanings in the US that are dissimilar to the rest of the world's understanding. It seems if you nonchalantly ask folks to describe their political views, many respond with "conservative". What they really mean has more to do with with the broader meaning of the word 'conservative", rather than the meaning of a political conservative which is primarily about strengthening and protecting an existing social hierarchy.    In Europe, the word "Liberal " has traditionally meant a preference for things like limited government, separate privat...

An Open Letter To Decent People - From Mitch McConnell

Image
Dear decent people, First let me explain a few things to you. The Republican Party, whatever it stood for in the past, no longer stands for that. Nor anything else for that matter. We stand only for our own personal accumulation of power and wealth, and that's it. Stop trying to appeal to our ethics. We have none. Stop trying to appeal to our humanity. We have none. The Republican party is also known affectionately as the  God  &  Oil  Party (GOP). It is a division of  Halliburton  and a subsidiary of the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. Today's GOP is the largest misanthropic organization in the world. We may cite Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt as proof we are not assholes when we want your vote, but remember, Roosevelt left the party and took all the decent people with him. As for Lincoln, he was no states rights champion, and we'd drum him the hell out if he were alive today! (that damned atheist bleeding heart progressive opposed slav...

Not Everything Nor Everyone Is A Commodity

Image
The problem with our illegitimate president is not that he is imbecilic and inept—it is that he has surrendered total power to the oligarchs. They get what they want. They do what they want. Although the president is a one-man wrecking crew aimed at democracy and institutions, and he has turned the United States into a laughingstock around the globe, our national crisis is embodied not in Trump but the corporate state’s now unfettered pillage. Trump, who has no inclination or ability to govern, has handed the machinery of government over to the bankers, corporate executives, right-wing think tanks, CEOs and generals. They are  eradicating the few regulations  and laws that inhibited a naked kleptocracy. They are dynamiting the institutions,  including the State Department , that served interests other than corporate profit and are stacking the courts with far right-wing, corporate-controlled ideologues. Trump provides the daily entertainment; the elites handle the bu...

Trump Nominates Judge Dredd To Supreme Court

Image
Washington, D.C., USA -- United States President Donald Trump has nominated Judge Dredd to be seated on the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS). The surprise pick of Dredd is said to be Trump's idea as he likes a lawyer who isn't afraid to waste people while working. "Judge Dredd ticks all the right boxes," said Trump. "He is strong on Law and Order and won't be sitting all day in a court room, but going out there and dispensing American Justice via the 2nd amendment...that's the fuckin'   American Way . Dredd is my type of lawman". Dredd has been a popular judge since he first appeared on the legal circuit 40 years ago. He is a lifelong Conservative and strong believer in the Second Amendment . Supporters of Dredd say he will save a 'ton of money' by dispensing justice with on-the-spot-fines and executions. Opponents of Dredd say he is a bad communicator and speaks only in grunts. He was also responsible fo...

"News From Nowhere" - An 1890 Novel Revisited

Image
Written in 1890 by William Morris "News from Nowhere" is a compelling formulation of his views on art, work, community, family, and the nature and structure of the ideal society. One might say it's a Utopian narrative or something like science fiction, but without question, it is an immensely entertaining novel. And one that has cause for resonance today. You can read the work yourself here at no cost. William Morris (1834-1896) is probably best-known today as a Victorian designer whose work has never gone out of fashion. You can buy Morris merchandise – from coasters to picture frames to ties to mugs – in the gift shops of every big design museum.  Do an internet search of  his name, and your screen will fill up with cascades of dense, colorful ornaments. But Morris was also a radical thinker,  and his novel "News from Nowhere" (1890),  has striking applications in the internet era. In "News from Nowhere", Morris imagined a world in which hu...

Entropy & Empire (or A House Is Not A Hole)

Image
T here likely is an American dream, some sort of aspiration hidden in an old coffee can buried somewhere beneath the grave of Thomas Paine.  But there is also an American nightmare, an empty, cold, heartless, mundane banality sucking the life force from all it encounters. America is not without virtue mind you, but its people have been, and remain dangerously hypnotized. L ong before Trumpism,  and it's associated demise of decency, honesty, and intelligence in public matters turned us into a nation of cretins and morons; the decline of the empire was well under way. A fair warning dear reader, most people who write about the dystopian nature of a society will try in the end, to offer some hope of redemption. This is not what you'll find here. If you're looking for a "feel good" uplifting piece that offers some pie in the sky remedy with a happy ending, you'll not find that here. I can not honestly be optimistic in this regard. There's a f...

Capitalism Part 3 - Ordering Materials

Image
The Production Manager  A s we stated previously, the production manager is the best position in a capitalist world. However occasionally the production manager will be expected to perform some task beyond intimidating and demeaning the dregs...er...I mean workers. The Vendor T ypically, a production manager will be responsible for the ordering of materials and supplies . Choosing which vendor or vendors to conduct business with has far reaching implications for the ease of production, profitability and overall quality of the soon-to-be-in-a-landfill variety of items that your company produces. Essentially, any of these factors may be used as an excuse to buy anything from anyone. If a salesman isn't cooperating with you, feel free to order the most expensive materials possible for his job – which will eat into his commission. T he most important factor when choosing between vendors is reliability. If your company orders large quantities of materials, ther...

Capitalism Part 2 - Hiring Employees

Image
Nothing saves you more time and effort than hiring the proper employees in the first place instead of having to continuously beat down the ones who don’t understand their place in the grand scheme of things. Here's the situation: You need to hire a new machine operator and the choices are going to be few since the only people who fill out an application for your shitty company are either crazy or desperate for work. Employees that couldn't get a job anywhere else are loyal and easily manipulated. Even the local Malwart store fired this guy. He'd be a great candidate! Potential Employee “A” Interview He's Some middle aged guy who's been running the same equipment used by our company for 20+ years. His previous employers have paid him the top tier for this position but ended up laying him off  after a hostile buyout, or going out of business. The guy appears smart. He Complimented me on the size of my desk pad but mumbled something that sounded like ...

How Capitalism Works

Image
T he magic of capitalism begins with a long line of business owners dating back to the middle ages. There is no denial that capitalism has played an important role in mankind's development. It ended feudalism when Lords and Ladies became dependent on merchants in towns to supply them with trinkets and baubles. Peasants, who were once a critical cog in the medieval despot's wheel of  repression instead became cogs in the newly wealthy merchants wheel of repression...a vast improvement! Owners - Bosses Aside from stealing and looting the poor, they purchase the government and have an invisible hand in the pants of all large corporations. They also enjoy racial oppression, opposing every type of justice in existence, and setting fire to puppies and/or impoverished African children. I n today's modern business world, it's likely, that the boss (see photo above) is some complete moron who inherited a business or bought business with inheritance ...
